Change of Plans
Attending Ceremony
Candidates who have already submitted an Application for Degree or decided later to attend the commencement ceremony should notify the Academic Records Office by sending notification from your BSC email account. Include first and last name, Student ID number, and indicate that you will be attending the commencement ceremony. (mail to: bsc.records@bismarckstate.edu)
 
Not Attending Ceremony
Candidates who indicated on the Application for Degree to attend the commencement ceremony but after submitting it decide not to attend may cancel participation by sending notification from your BSC email account. Include first and last name, Student ID number, and indicate that you will not be attending commencement. (mail to: bsc.records@bismarckstate.edu)
 
Changing graduation date to a later semester
Candidates who have already submitted an Application for Degree and decide to delay graduation to a later semester should notify the Academic Records Office from your BSC email account. Include first and last name, Student ID, and indicate that you are requesting to have your application for degree cancelled.

Candidates will be required to complete a new application for degree and indicate the new semester degree requirements will be met.
 
Special Assistance
If you need specific accommodations for the ceremony that were not indicated on your Application for Degree, send notification from your BSC email account to sheila.bitz@bismarckstate.edu or contact Sheila Bitz at (701) 224-5428 with specific information.
 
Diploma Information
Diplomas are not distributed at commencement. The College issues diplomas after verifying that all academic requirements have been completed and the degree has been awarded. Diplomas are mailed approximately 5 to 7 weeks following the close of the semester.
 
LIVE Stream and Online Recording
Commencement LIVE Stream – Guests who are unable to attend the ceremony can watch it live.
The commencement ceremony can be viewed at a later date online on the BSC website and through Dakota Media Access.
