To be considered for admission to Bismarck State
College, you must provide the following:
- Complete the Application for Admission Form.
- Pay a $35 application Fee. This is non-refundable, but must
be paid only once.
- Submit one FINAL, OFFICIAL High School (Secondary School)
transcript, showing dates of attendance, courses attempted,
grades, date of graduation etc.
- Submit one FINAL, OFFICIAL college transcript from colleges
previously attended. The transcript must show dates of
attendance, courses attempted, grades etc. If you wish to have
credit evaluated for transfer credit, a course-by-course
evaluation of non-U.S. postsecondary credentials is required. The
evaluation form may be obtained at www.WES.org. The form must be
submitted with official transcripts/academic records from all
post-secondary schools attended, along with word-for-word English
translations. There will be a cost to the student for the service
charged by the World Education Service. There is no guarantee
that the credits will transfer.
- Complete COMPASS
Assessment (taken on the BSC campus, required for all
international students.)
- Complete American
College Test (ACT). This is required for Canadian students
under the age of 25.
- F-1 immigrant students must submit certification of satisfactory completion
(score of 525 or better for paper-based test; score of 195 or better for
computer-based test, or score of 70 for internet-based) of the Test of
English as a Foreign Language-TOEFL, before they will be considered for
admission to BSC. TOEFL results must be recent and verifiable. Information
regarding TOEFL can be obtained by contacting: TOEFL Box 899, Princeton, NJ
08541.
- Provide proof of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.
Providing evidence of having two doses of the MMR vaccine at
least one month apart is required. (These must be translated into
English.) Tuberculosis Screening if applicable. Read Tuberculosis

- Completed Declaration of
Finance form. Documentation must show a source of full
financial support for all years of attendance at Bismarck State
College. You should be prepared to provide additional certified
bank records or other pertinent documentation upon request.
- Medical Insurance: All F-1 students who enroll at BSC are
required to purchase a medical health insurance policy which
remains in effect for the duration of study. The premium for
coverage under this plan will be billed directly to the student.
The annual fee must be paid in full at the beginning of the first
year and prior to each subsequent year of study. The insurance
will be coordinated by the International student admissions
office. (Students from Canada and Norway are exempt).
- A copy of your passport, including passport expiration date
and the U.S. entry visa stamp in the passport with expiration
date (except Canadians) - after a student arrives on campus.
- Submit all other information as may be required by BSC or the
Department of Homeland Security. All documents submitted must be
translated into English and certified as to their authenticity
and accuracy.
- Students will be required to submit a $100 U.S. tuition
deposit prior to the issuance of their F-1 visas.
LETTERS, FORMS, TRANSCRIPTS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS
MUST BE "OFFICIAL" AND TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH.
If applying for a LIMITED ENROLLMENT
VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL Program you must obtain specific placement
scores and pay a $100 tuition deposit. The deposit will be
accepted by BSC only after you complete the above admissions
requirements.

The immigration form I-20 will not be issued by BSC
until your Admissions file is complete.
