The Review is an online essay review service for BSC students. Students may email their essays to a Sykes Student Success Center tutor for review and feedback. Essays sent Monday through Thursday will be returned with suggestions within 24 hours by email. Anything submitted after 1:00 p.m. on Friday will not be returned until the following Monday (if Monday is a holiday, then the essay will not be returned until Tuesday.)

The Review is not an editing or proofreading service. The tutor will read over the essay with attention to clarity, organization, effectiveness, and following directions. The tutor will point out repeated grammatical errors, especially those that interfere with understanding, and will provide resources for improvement.

The tutor can also answer questions regarding the writing process.

SUBMITTING YOUR ESSAY FOR REVIEW:

Send your essay as a Microsoft Word attachment only (our computers will not open Works or WordPerfect attachments).

In your email clearly state the following (emails missing any of these items will be returned without review):

• Your full name
• Instructor's name
• Course name (ex. ENGL 110, HIST 103)
• The assignment instructions- give as much detail as possible
• Assigned length
• Due date
• Your questions
