Nominated for a Faculty Award for Excellence, Brent Reems teaches the Chemistry program's organic chemistry classes and labs. He came to BSC in 2005 and assumed the position of department chair in 2012. His other teaching responsibilities have included Introduction to Organic and Biochemistry and General Chemistry.
Reems has a Master of Science in chemistry from North Dakota State University and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of North Dakota. He serves on the BSC Assessment Committee and is a member of the American Chemical Society and contact for the Red River Valley Chapter. Reems is a past member and secretary of the Faculty Senate and served on various senate committees. He has helped find presenters for the community's Visiting Scientists Series, which BSC co-sponsors with several educational partners and professional organizations.
Raised in Killdeer, N.D., Reems worked for the North Dakota Crime Laboratory for five years as a forensic scientist before coming to BSC.
