Why do I need a BSC photo ID?
- The BSC photo ID is your official college identification card and serves as your ticket for accessing services at a variety of campus locations. All enrolled students, faculty, and staff are eligible to get a card.
What kinds of services can I access with the BSC photo ID?
- Library services and resources (the library access number is the barcode on the BACK of the card)
- Dining services (for students living on campus)
- Entrance to BSC activities, e.g., athletic events, plays, concerts, and dances (either for free or at a discount price)
- Ability to use financial aid or third-party charging for purchases made at the BSC Bookstore
- BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center
- Discounts from local businesses
Who is eligible to get a BSC photo ID?
- Currently enrolled BSC students
- Current BSC employees
- Note: BSC distance education users (students and faculty) may apply for an online access number via online services on our website.
How and where do I get a BSC photo ID?
- Stop by the BSC Library during regular library hours to get your BSC photo ID.
- BSC students and employees must present photographic proof of identification (e.g., current driver's license or passport) and proof of their NDUS (North Dakota University System) EMPLID number.
- There is no charge for the first BSC photo ID card or for a card that has expired (expiration date is on the back of the card).
Do I need to get a new ID every year?
- No. There is an expiration date on the back of your BSC photo ID card. If the card hasn't expired, you don't need to get a new ID.
I lost my BSC photo ID. Can I get another one?
- Yes, you can get a replacement ID by requesting one at the BSC Library during regular library hours.
- The fee for a replacement ID is $5. We accept cash or checks for the amount of purchase (with proper ID, e.g., driver's license). There is no charging and we cannot accept credit cards or debit cards.
Is there a charge for replacing an expired ID card?- No, bring your expired ID with you when you stop by the library and we will make a new card for you at no charge.
Can anyone else use my BSC photo ID?
- No. Your BSC photo ID is non-transferrable. Only YOU can use your card
How do I get a library card or library access number?
- Note: If you have a BSC photo ID, it is your library card. The library access number is the 14-digit barcode number on the BACK of the card.
- Current BSC students and employees must present proof of identification (e.g., current driver's license) and proof of their NDUS (North Dakota University System) EMPLID number.
- Current BSC distance education users (students and faculty) may apply for an online library access number via online services on our website.
- North Dakota residents may apply for a community library card and must present a current North Dakota driver's license to obtain one. Community users have courtesy borrowing privileges only. Interlibrary loan and off-campus access to databases is limited to current BSC students and employees.
