ENERGY

Energy education is BSC's largest and fastest growing program area. BSC's National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) programs are recognized nationally and developed with industry to meet workforce standards. Classrooms and labs are housed in the $18.5 million National Energy Center of Excellence building. The "green," four-story structure was completed through financial partnerships with local, state and federal government, energy companies and individuals.

BSC has responded to industry demand by offering the nation's premier online, four-year degree to prepare technicians for supervisory or management positions. The college has approval of the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC) as a continuing education provider and works with the Energy Providers Coalition for Education.

Besides energy industry education, the NECE offers:
  1. Apprenticeship training that combines theoretical instruction with on-the-job experience. The NECE creates a customized program to meet the needs of your organization.
  2. Grow Your Own Workforce program for recruiting new employees.
