Welcome to GPEE

Senator Byron Dorgan U.S. Senator Byron L. Dorgan
D-North Dakota

Dear Friends,

It seems like almost every day you hear something new about North Dakota's growing energy sector. From fossil fuels to renewable energy, it's an exciting time in our state for those interested in energy. North Dakota's energy sector is on the move and we are talking about how we expand on our successes and further our efforts to break America's dependence on foreign energy.

That's why I'm co-hosting with Bismarck State College, the Great Plains Energy Corridor Office, and Kadrmas Lee & Jackson the third annual Great Plains Energy Expo and Showcase on November 9th and 10th at the Bismarck Civic Center's Exhibition Hall. This world-class event will feature nationally recognized speakers and researchers, including Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer and legendary independent oilman, Harold Hamm. There will also be timely workshop presentations as well as dozens of energy-related exhibitors with valuable information to share.

In 2005, I announced an initiative called the "Great Plains Energy Corridor" aimed at promoting the potential America's Heartland has to help with our country’s energy woes as we are dangerously dependent on foreign sources of energy. The upcoming Great Plains Energy Expo and Showcase is a part of furthering this important initiative.

If you are interested in North Dakota's growing energy industry, join me on November 9th and 10th at the Bismarck Civic Center's Exhibition Hall. There will definitely be many things to learn and share!

More information about the keynote speakers, workshop presenters, and event registration can be found on this web site or you can call 1-877-846-9387.

Sincerely,

Byron L. Dorgan
U.S. Senator
