Welcome to the dual credit program at BSC. The dual credit program helps you excel in high school courses and prepares you for the college experience. A number of courses are available through BSC. Courses may vary by high school and by semester. Please contact your high school counselor to ensure the class you want is available.
Course Offerings Most college courses are available to dual credit students. However, your high school must approve enrollment in these courses. Qualified students may enroll in courses offered at BSC (on campus, online, or ITV). Go to BSC's Schedule of Classes for the most current information on available course offerings.

Student Eligibility To participate in BSC's dual credit program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:- Be a high school sophomore, junior, or senior
- Recommended for participation by a high school administrator or designee
- Permission of parent and/or legal guardian
- Hold a 3.0 GPA
- Meet required placement scores for college Math and/or English and meet any prerequisites that are listed within the course description of the course the student wishes to enroll in.
Tuition The student and the student's parent(s) and/or legal guardian are responsible for all costs. Classes are charged on a per credit basis. For current tuition rates go to BSC's Tuition & Fees website. Certain dual credit courses taught within the high school may qualify for a tuition reduction.
Bank of North Dakota (BND), is accepting applications from eligible students for financial assistance to pay for dual credit courses. Funding is limited. Applications will be considered by submission date. Approved students may receive assistance for up to two (2) courses per academic school year. For more information go to: Dual Credit Assistance
Transferability Bismarck State College is regionally accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. As a result of this accreditation, course credits will transfer without difficulty. All institutions within the North Dakota University System will accept any course approved by the General Education Transfer Agreement (GERTA).
Students considering dual credit classes are strongly encouraged to consult with the institution they plan on attending after graduation to discuss how their courses will fit within their intended degree program.
