| "Smart grid" refers to technologies that will allow consumers to make more real time decisions about how they use energy as well as increasing the efficiency of the grid. This panel will examine some advances being made in smart grid technologies and North Dakota’s energy companies’ role in advancing this technology. On the transmission side of the electric grid, we need to create a high voltage overlay of transmission wires to integrate renewable resources and more efficiently move electrons around the country. |
