This industry-driven online program addresses critical employment needs in the electric utilities work force. In partnership with EPCE, (Energy Providers Coalition for Education) Bismarck State College has designed the Associate in Applied Science degree in ELPW to provide students with a core set of skills and competencies and a broad knowledge of the industry. The program has a strong emphasis on distribution.
Electrical Transmission Systems Technology (ETST) more etst
The ETST program was created in response to industry demand for qualified system operators. The program is designed to teach students about the electrical power system in North America, including basic electricity, generation, distribution, and transmission, with a strong emphasis on system operations. System operations is the aspect of the energy industry that deals with the management, delivery, safety, and reliability of the wholesale electrical power market.
Nuclear Power Technology (NUPT) more nupt

Students will gain the skills and knowledge required for non-licensed operator, maintenance, chemistry, and health physics technician positions in nuclear generation stations. This program is also a great opportunity for present nuclear station employees in non-technical areas, and all employees who are seeking a degree.

In partnership with EPCE, (Energy Providers Coalition for Education) Bismarck State College has designed the Associate in Applied Science degree in Nuclear Power. Industry forecasts a strong job market for applicants in nuclear energy due to an aging workforce, and plants seeking operating license extensions. The career path offers great pay in addition to interesting and rewarding careers in nuclear energy.
