How do I become a student?
  1. Fill out an Application for Admissions. Click here for instructions on how to apply.
  1. Submit the $35.00 application fee over the phone by calling 701.224.5533. The payment can also be sent to:

  1. If you are employed in the energy industry, please fill out the form at this link after you apply for admission: Student Employment Verification.
  1. Determine which materials you need:
    If you have no college experience official high school transcripts or GED
    If you have earned less than 24 semester hours of college credit official high school transcripts or GED
    all official college or university transcripts
    If you have earned more than 24 semester hours of college credit all official college or university transcripts
  1. If you are under the age of 25, you also need official SAT or ACT scores. If you have taken CLEP tests, you need official scores.
  1. If you are not employed in the industry, you will need to meet one of the following program requirements.
    If you are under the age of 25, you will need to have an ACT score of 16 or higher in math.
    If you are over the age of 25 or have not met the requirement for the ACT test, you will need to take the COMPASS or ACCUPLACER assessment. These are assessments of your skills in math and writing. Students can call (800) 645-1992 to find a COMPASS assessment center near their residence. Students can call Amanda Dockter at (701) 224-5766 or (800) 445-5073 to set up the ACCUPLACER online. The COMPASS score in math that is required is a 41 or higher on the pre-algebra portion. The ACCUPLACER score that is required is a 44 or higher on the elementary algebra portion.
    Completion of previous college math (Beginning Algebra or above) also meets the requirements. After BSC receives your college transcript, we will review the math course and let you know if it meets the requirement.
  1. All transcripts need to be mailed from the schools to:

  1. Upon completion of your application and submission of the application fee, you will be contacted by email within 2-3 business days.
