Construction is under way on the new building that was a dream of college, energy industry and business leaders for years.
The new name - National Energy Center of Excellence - was unveiled May 10 during the ground breaking ceremony for the $15,400,000 building. As donor of the $2 million lead gift in the capital campaign, Basin Electric was given naming rights for the facility, previously called the Career and Technology Institute.
A large gathering of energy industry and business leaders, government officials, and educators attended the event. The 106,200 square-foot building will house the National Energy Center, Workforce Training Center and Higher Education Center.
May 2008 is the expected completion date. Click Here to View Energy Center Photos |
