BSC’s long-term goal is to create a nationally renowned National Energy Center of Excellence (NECE) for the energy industry by building on the strong foundation and quality of our distinctive energy education technology programs. The NECE will enhance training and education opportunities in key areas directly related to the energy industry and will serve as a ‘one-stop training and education shop’. Complementary programs and online options for expanded access will be developed as demand dictates and resources allow. In addition to excellence in programming, the NECE will have a reputation for quality placement services and retraining programs for current employees.
To meet the rapid changes in the energy industry and the increasing industry demand for multi-skilled technicians the National Energy Center of Excellence will:

Prepare quality trained and educated, multi-skilled energy technicians who can adapt and be productive in the generation, transmission, and distribution of power. |

Provide a pathway to earn an associate degree for those students with previous general education and other technical courses. |

Develop online two-year degree programs to meet the future needs of the energy industry, including programs in generation, transmission, distribution and alternative energy technologies. |

Provide a national center for continuing education and training for the upgrading of worker skills and the meeting of professional certification requirements. |

Serve as a national center for industry leadership education and training forums, colloquiums, institutes and think tanks. |

Serve as a national clearinghouse for energy industry education and training materials.
Provide credits that are transferable to four-year degree granting institutions. |

Nurture and challenge the faculty and staff in a team-oriented environment so students benefit from the best of the best. |

Provide an excellent entrepreneurial approach to economic development, creating a new business enterprise with primary sector jobs in North Dakota. |

Be agile and adapt quickly to the needs of the energy industry to seamlessly meet industry expectations. |
