COLLABORATIVE STUDENT REGISTRATION

Collaborative students are students who are earning their degree from Bismarck State College but will be taking course(s) at another NDUS institution within the same term.
Bismarck State College, which is where you are receiving your degree, is your HOME institution. The institution where you are taking additional course(s), but not receiving your degree from, is your PROVIDER institution. Please read through the following information to find out if you are eligible to be a BSC Collaborative student, see what courses are not eligible, and what BSC, as your home institution, will do on your behalf.
Eligible BSC students must be admitted to BSC as a degree seeking student and not have any negative service indicators that would prevent enrollment. The student must agree to follow all BSC policies, procedures, dates and deadlines. Collaborative students must be enrolled in at least one class from BSC for the semester they are requesting to take a collaborative course.
View NDUS Collaborative Student Procedures.
To enroll as a collaborative student, go to BSC's Collaborative Forms Webpage.
Courses not eligible for Collaborative Registration are:- Courses that are remedial or graduate level
- Courses where the student has not met the prerequisites.
- Courses offered at the same time and manner at BSC.
- Courses that would put the student over 20 semester hours when combining collaborative and BSC credits.
Bismarck State College will:- Combine credits taken at the provider campus with credits at BSC for financial aid purposes.
- Add tuition owed to the provider institution to the BSC bill.*
Tuition from the Provider campus will not be added to the BSC account until approximately the 16th calendar day from the start of the term.
Students not using Financial Aid have the option to pay BSC by the designated due date. Your Provider campus charges are viewable on CampusConnection & can be paid to BSC or directly to the Provider campus.
Students requesting Collaborative status after the start of the term are required to pay the Provider campus directly.
- Record credits from a provider institution to the BSC transcript as transfer credits at the end of the semester.
