Accessing Your Student Email Account

If you already know your login information for your BSC student
email account, click here go to the Office 365 login page.

Log into your BSC student email account using your NDUS ID@ndus.edu, and your NDUS account password (same password used to access CampusConnection). Example: jane.doe@ndus.edu

Note: The @ndus.edu is a universal email login that students take with them to other institutions in the state that use the same email system. This login/password is used to authenticate to all Office 365 services.

When you send and receive email it will show as coming from/to your NDUS ID@bismarckstate.edu address.

To log into your BSC student email account, use the following:

Username: your NDUS ID@ndus.edu  Example: jane.doe@ndus.edu
Password: your NDUS account (CampusConnection) password

The first time you log into Outlook Web Access, you will need to choose your desired language and time zone.

Note: You will also use the above login/password information for configuring smartphones, tablets, Office 365 Pro Plus, OneDrive and Skype for Business.

If you are using the correct login and password, and it is not working, it is possible your NDUS and email account passwords did not sync correctly. To resolve this, visit the NDUS Help Desk site. Click on "Change My NDUS Account Password". Log in with your User ID and current password, then click "Change My Password". Once you change your password, this will sync your NDUS and email account passwords. It can take up to 15 minutes after changing your password before you can access your email with the new password.

If you do not remember your NDUS account password, at the above link, click on "I Forgot My NDUS Account Password".

Setting up your BSC student email on your mobile device

Microsoft has a Mobile Phone Setup Wizard that will guide you through the steps of configuring your BSC email account on your mobile device.

When setting up your device via the above wizard:

1)  Choose Microsoft Exchange
2)  The user name is your NDUS ID@ndus.edu  Example: jane.doe@ndus.edu
3)  The server is outlook.office365.com

Forwarding Student Email to a Non-BSC Email Account

The email account provided by the North Dakota University System (NDUS) is the "official email address" of BSC and will be the primary contact the college use to inform registered students of important campus information. This includes official course-related correspondence as well as dates, deadlines and other useful information from the Administration and/or Academic departments on campus.

As a student you are responsible for the information conveyed to your official email address.  To protect your privacy and ensure authenticity, official email exchanged between registered students and BSC personnel requesting a response requires the response be sent from the student's official email address (e.g., NDUS ID@bismarckstate.edu).

Messages sent from non NDUS email accounts will be rejected by staff and faculty.

As a student, you are allowed to forward email from your BSC official email account to another account. However, BSC strongly discourages this practice.

BSC will not be responsible for the handling of email by outside vendors or unofficial servers, or messages that are lost or undelivered.

Instructions for Forwarding (not recommended)

To forward messages from the official email address to another account, click on the settings icon in the upper right hand side of the browser (gear icon) > Options > Forwarding (left hand side under Accounts) and enter your email address.

Remember: Official email exchanged between registered students and BSC personnel requesting a response requires the response be sent from the student's official email address (not the email address that the official email is forwarded to).

As stated in the official Student Email Policy, email communications are intended to meet the academic and administrative needs of the campus community. Bismarck State College (BSC) exercises the right to send email communication to students and expects that email communication is received and read by students in a timely manner.
