Perfect weather, a hole-in-one, and a threeway
tie for first place gross prize marked the
2008 BSC President’s Cup Golf Classic on
June 20. Proceeds from the tourney, which
brought out 156 golfers, fund athletic scholarships.
Reg Rudolph scored a hole-in-one at
Pebble Creek’s 2nd hole.
First place net team prize went to Russ
Ormiston, Rich Goldsbury, Kyle Oslos, and
Mark Johannsen. The three-way tie for first
place gross team was scored by the teams of
Jon Joersz, Ben Joersz, Jon Anderson and
Kevin Gilchrist; Arthur Jerome, Craig Larson,
Dave Blair and Tanner Blair; and Skyler
Marquart and Ryan, Ray and Rhett Benning.
These retired BSC employees were inducted
into the Mystic Hall of Fame during the
19th hole social:
Dr. Kermit Lidstrom, president from
1977-95, worked closely with the athletic department,
providing administrative support.
He continues to support the Mystic Athletic
Club and attends games regularly.
Ed Kringstad retired as athletic director
in 1999 after 33 years of service. He also
coached hundreds of athletes in wrestling,
tennis, cross country and golf. He previously
was inducted into the NJCAA National
Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Valley City
State University Hall of Fame.
Jim Kautzman,
known as “Katz,” was
athletic equipment
manager until retiring
May 30. A dedicated
employee and Mystic
supporter for over 35
years, he was a friend
to hundreds of BSC
athletes.
