Golf Inductees

It’s time to gather your golf buddies and sign up for the 2008 BSC President’s Cup Golf Classic. Create one, two, or even more teams! The fund-raiser for athletic scholarships takes place June 20 at Prairie West, Pebble Creek and Tom O’Leary golf courses.

After an action-packed day of golf, all participants, sponsors and volunteers are invited to the 19th hole social and ceremony for inductions into the Mystic Hall of Fame. The inductions take place at 5 p.m. on the south lawn of the BSC Armory.

This year’s inductees are Dr. Kermit Lidstrom, Ed Kringstad and Jim Kautzman.

Dr. Kermit Lidstrom served as president of BSC from 1977-1995. His many achievements include development of the BSC Foundation and reorganization of the BSC National Alumni Association. During his tenure, Dr. Lidstrom worked closely with the athletic department, providing administrative support.

Ed Kringstad retired as BSC’s athletic director in 1999 after 33 years of service. He also coached hundreds of athletes in the sports of wrestling, tennis, cross country, and golf.

Jim Kautzman, better known as “Katz,” began his full-time career at BSC in 1974 as the athletic equipment manager. Jim has been a dedicated employee and Mystic supporter for over 35 years.

Tournament proceeds are used to award area student-athletes with scholarships. Call the BSC Foundation at 224-5700 or 224-5702; go to bismarckstate.edu/golf to print the golf brochure and registration. Early Bird registration of $125 per golfer ends May 23.

Hole sponsorships are still available. For information, contact Justin Forde at 701-224-5702.
