DEGREE PLANS: Nursing Transfer AS - 2013-14 Nursing Transfer Curriculum Guide - 2011-13
Program Description The transfer Nursing program at BSC provides the first two years of core classes toward a baccalaureate degree for students planning a career in nursing. Students study chemistry, anatomy and physiology, psychology, microbiology, sociology, nutrition, algebra and statistics and complete general education courses required for an associate degree.
Preparation High School students who plan to follow a registered nursing curriculum should take biology, chemistry and the appropriate mathematics courses in high school. Students without this background should expect to spend longer than two years at BSC finishing coursework. Anyone considering this career field should have a sincere desire to help those experiencing disease, as well as the ability to deal with increasingly complex technology.
Program Requirements Students who complete requirements of the suggested curriculum receive an Associate in Science degree and can transfer to a college of nursing at a four-year institution.
Contact your BSC advisor for assistance with transfer planning.
Career Opportunities Graduates of nursing programs are in high demand in North Dakota and throughout the United States. Nurses provide care in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, clinics, home health, long-term care, community health and schools.
