The program offers hands-on experience working the Mystician, BSC's student print and online newspaper, and its broadcast component, MystiCast.

Program Requirements
Completion of the program requirements leads to an Associate in applied Science degree and offers students flexibility for immediate employment. Students interested in transfer to a four-year institution can complete an Associate in Arts degree with careful selection of elective courses.

BSC has cooperative agreements with Dickinson State University and Minot State University and several other four-year institutions that allow students to continue with a bachelor's degree on the BSC campus. Those transferring to other institutions should consult the catalog of the transfer school and modify BSC's suggested curriculum where necessary.

Contact your BSC advisor for assistance with transfer planning.

With society continually in need of information, careers in the communications field are diverse. Graduates will find employment in a variety of areas: print, broadcast or electronic media, advertising, public relations, government agencies, energy companies and other industries.

Career Possibilities: Print Writer-Editor, Online Writer-Editor, Broadcast Producer, Videographer, Audio/Video Technician, Public Relations Specialist, Web Designer, and Web Developer.
