PHASE I: GETTING ORGANIZED | AUGUST - SEPTEMBER 2011
A task force for our strategic planning efforts has been appointed. The Strategic Planning Task Force of 30 members reflects the diversity of the Bismarck State College community. These individuals bring a variety of valuable experiences and perspectives to the planning process. Jane Schulz, Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, and Vickie Volk, Associate Professor of Computer Information Systems will serve as co-chairs of the task force.
The members of the Strategic Planning Task Force will receive a copy of Collaborative Strategic Planning in Higher Education by Patrick Sanaghan. This book will explain collaborative strategic planning and will guide the task force through the process. The members of the task force meet in September. At that time, they will become familiar with Mr. Sanaghan's five-phase process and learn about the interactive techniques that will be used to gather data and ideas from the campus community and other BSC stakeholders.
