PHASE II: DATA GATHERING AND ENGAGEMENT | SEPTEMBER - NOVEMBER 2011

The purpose of this phase is to connect with stakeholders and engage their thinking and solicit ideas. Institutional core values, challenges, and critical issues are the discussion points that are addressed during this phase. Task force members will use a variety of facilitated planning exercises and simple tools that encourage human interaction. People will see the power of the planning process as they become more knowledgeable about the college. They will also come to understand that strategic planning is a collaborative effort in which our employees take on the work and responsibility of the process.
A number of stakeholder groups, such as alumni, faculty, students, will take part in the planning exercises that occur in the data gathering and engagement phase. The data generated will be compiled and posted on the strategic planning website for others to see how different groups view and prioritize issues. Frequent planning updates will be scheduled to ensure transparency and to inform the campus community about the progress of the strategic planning effort.
